The heart of SAI-CAMH

At the heart of the South African Institute of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (SAI-CAMH, pronounced *sigh-cam*) are our learners—school-going adolescents navigating the transformative journey between childhood and adulthood. This pivotal stage, balancing the joy of youthful dreams and the challenges of growing independence, is where we focus our expertise.

While our primary mission is to support teenagers, we also extend certain services and guidance to primary schools, ensuring holistic care for young minds at every step. Together, we aim to bring out the best in every child and adolescent we serve.

At SAI-CAMH, we bring out the best in our beneficiaries by delivering:

Counselling for vulnerable tweens, teens and youth with mild to moderate emotional problems.

Screening, assessment and therapy for school-going youngsters with substance use disorders (SUDs).

Teacher and parent education sessions around child and educational development, mental health care and SUDs.

Psycho-education sessions where we teach teens all about learning styles and developing sound and personalized study methods.
